Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 2, 2026
Quick Macros ("we", "us", "our") operates the QuickMacros mobile and web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account data. Email address and authentication identifiers you provide when signing up or signing in (including via Google, if used).
- Meal data you create. Meal descriptions, photos, voice recordings (when you use voice entry), estimated macronutrients (calories, protein, carbs, fat), timestamps, and any notes or restaurant information you add.
- Camera and photos. When you take or upload a photo of a meal, the image is sent to our backend and to AI providers solely to estimate the meal's macronutrients. We request camera permission only at the moment you choose to capture a photo. We do not access your camera in the background.
- Microphone (optional). If you use voice entry, your audio is transcribed by an AI provider and the resulting text is used to create the meal entry.
- Social features. If you connect with friends or share meals, the recipients can see the meal content you choose to share.
- Technical data. Basic logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
2. How we use your information
- To provide core functionality: analyzing meals, storing your history, and showing your daily macro totals.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To enable optional social features you opt into (friends, sharing).
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your meal photos or content to train AI models.
3. AI processing
To estimate macronutrients and transcribe voice input, we send the relevant content (meal text, photo, or audio) to third-party AI providers via the Lovable AI Gateway, which routes requests to providers such as Google (Gemini) and OpenAI. These providers process the content solely to return a result to us and, under our agreements, do not use it to train their models. No account identifiers beyond what is required for the request are shared.
4. Service providers
We use the following categories of processors:
- Hosting & database: Lovable Cloud (built on Supabase) — stores your account, meal history, and uploaded images.
- AI processing: Lovable AI Gateway, Google, OpenAI — used to estimate macros and transcribe audio.
- Authentication: Email/password and (optionally) Google Sign-In.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data and meal history for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual meals at any time from within the app. To delete your entire account and associated data, contact us at support@quickmacros.app; we will process the deletion within 30 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- EU / UK (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither).
- Everywhere else: you may contact us to access or delete your data and we will honor reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@quickmacros.app.
7. Children
QuickMacros is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage at rest, row-level access control on the database, and limited employee access. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure and AI providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The "Effective date" above always reflects the latest version.
